The route covers 120.5 kilometres in six legs. At the end of each leg, travellers will be picked up on the road and driven to a rural house, where they will stay for the night after a well-deserved home-style dinner based on local products.

    Leg 1

    Santiago de Compostela / Ponte Maceira – Leg 1 (17.3 km)

    Walkers depart from Obradoiro Square, just by the extraordinary Cathedral of Compostela. The route unfolds across San Lourenzo Oak Forest and by the old Monastery of San Lourenzo de Trasouto, continues through Augapesada, with its mediaeval bridge, Alto do Mar de Ovellas and Ponte Maceira, with its large 13th-century bridge and its mills.

    Ames / Leg 1
    The house sits in an authentic natural area in inland Galicia, surrounded by native forests on one side and flanked by the Tambre River on the other side. The house is more than one hundred years old, and an attempt has been made to keep its ancient features as genuine as possible during its restoration. 

    Leg 2

    Ponte Maceira / Marco do Cornado – Leg 2 (20 km)

    We leave Ponte Maceira behind and follow our route across Negreira (Cotón Manor House and Church of San Mauro) to reach A Pena. Next, we walk into Piaxe, following the road across Cornovo, to later find the Foxán Stream and cross Vilaserío until we reach the end of the way in Marco do Cornado.

    Casa Perfeuto is a 1868 building refurbished in 2002. The quiet atmosphere comes hand in hand with artisanal, hearty dinners, chats in the many corners in the house or strolls in the country. 

    Leg 3

    Marco do Cornado / Marco do Couto – Leg 3 (25.3 Km)

    The journey begins in Marco do Cornado and continues across Santa Mariña das Maroñas, with its Romanesque parish church and its granaries, Bon Xesús and Vilar do Castro. The road goes up Mount Aro, on whose top there is a hill fort and travellers will enjoy some splendid views. Upon reaching Olveiroa, a number of small bases will be seen on the walls of several houses; they are used as entrance to the beehives inside the houses. The way continues across Hospital do Logoso, which once had a pilgrims’ hospital, now gone. Shortly after, travellers find a fork where they need to take the road to Fisterra, to end the journey in Marco do Couto.

    Casa de Santa Uxía-Dumbría / Leg 3

    This old farmhouse, built in the early 20thcentury and restored recently, enjoys an exceptional location by the Santa Uxía dam. Travellers will be able to see the spectacular landscape of the Galician coast from the nearby viewpoint on the Ézaro River. 

    Leg 4

    Marco do Couto / Cabo Fisterra – Leg 4 (25.9 Km)

    Once we leave Marco do Couto, we find the sanctuaries of Nosa Señora das Neves and San Pedro Mártir, each of which has a holy fountain, and the towns of Cee, Corcubión (declared a historical and artistic ensemble) and Sardiñeiro, to end this leg in Fisterra.

    The establishment Prado da Viña sits on a natural watchtower looking onto the Ria of Fisterra. The sunsets, the stunning evenings and the charm of the place will turn your stay into an unforgettable experience. 

    Leg 5

    Fisterra / Lires – Leg 5 (15.3 km)

    Travellers start the way walking past the Church of Santa María das Areas and its Gothic stone cross, to cross the towns of Fisterra, Val de Duio, Suarriba, Castrexe, Padrís and Canosa and end the way in Lires.

    Cabañas de Lires-Cee / Leg 5

    The natural environment where Cabañas de Lires sits is admired by all those who come to visit the place. A place you will fall in love with because of its people and landscapes, its cuisine and culture. Alternative accommodation: Casa Jesús. 

    Leg 6

    Lires / Muxía – Leg 6 (15.3 km)

    Departing from Lires, travellers walk through Vaosilveiro, Frixe, Guisamonde, Morquintián, Mount Facho, Lourido Beach and the town of Muxía, to end the way at the Sanctuary of Nosa Señora da Barca and its stones, Pedra de Abalar and Pedra dos Cadrís.

    Located in Santa Mariña, in a rural environment, Casa de Trillo has kept the flavour of tradition. The place has been erected in a very rich landscape.

    * After a complete breakfast, walkers will be driven again to the starting point of the following leg in the morning.
